About Heartology
Our Mission
At Heartology, we are on a mission to promote safe, patient-centered, and unbiased optimal medical care for all. We advocate for university students and their families to support their peace of mind throughout the healthcare experience.
Our Values
At Heartology Patient Advocacy, we believe in:
-
Respectful Conversations
Students should feel seen and heard by their medical providers.
-
Clear Understanding
Students and their families have a right to a clear understanding of their medical care.
-
Control Over Treatment
Students and their families should understand their condition and have control over treatment.
-
Family Support
Parents should spend less time worrying about healthcare and more time supporting their children.
What inspires us...
As a mother and a nurse in a college town, Heartology founder, Kimberly Krusinski, is passionate about protecting young adults and their parents.
Kimberly has cared for many students who are on their own dealing with a medical emergency or hospitalization. Their reactions range from freaked-out to checked-out. Unfortunately, doctors and nurses have limited time to spend with patients. That’s where Heartology comes in. Heartology nurses ask the right questions, explain tests and treatments, and promote communication between you, your child, and their healthcare team. Heartology provides peace of mind.
About Kimberly Krusinski
Born and raised in Upstate New York, Kimberly Krusinski graduated pre-med from the University of Miami in Florida, then went on to earn her nursing degree in Colorado. As a hospital nurse and now a Board Certified Patient Advocate, Kimberly has provided goal-directed care for college students for over twenty years, ensuring students and families are informed, safe, and supported throughout their healthcare experience.
